Last Week of School

As the school year winds down, I am always amazed how fast it went.  Here we are at the end of 5th grade!  It has been a fantastic year filled with great memories.  I just wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to both the parents and the students.  You all have been gracious and supportive in making this year a wonderful one.  I feel so blessed to have watched your children grow and mature into the young middle schoolers they have become.  Have a great summer and keep an eye on the blog.  I will be posting fun things through August.

Wednesday, May 21st - Auction Day
Thursday, May 22nd - Super Sharing/Talent Hour, Book Trailer Premiere, and Field Day
Friday, May 23rd - Last Day:  Nachos and Yearbook Signing Party, Early outs 1:40

Sammy, RJ and Madelyn's Going Away Luau

We have 3 students moving out of state this year.  The class has become so close that the only proper send off could be a party!

The Final Count Down . . . . .

Today marked 15 school days left!  Here is what we still need to accomplish before summer break.

1. Auction.   I am still in dire need of donations for our class basket for the auction.  I also need a large container to put our goodies in.  A basket is great but I am all about thinking outside the box too.  Perhaps a wagon or a small pool would be an amazing and eye catching donation.   Don't forget donations don't have to cost a thing.  Some businesses are willing to make donations for free.  Also, garage sales are another wonderful place to pick up fun items for cheap.

2.  Science Fair.  It is the same night as the auction.  All projects must be completed at home and brought to school on Thursday, May 15th.  That is only 10 days away!

3.  Puberty Video.  The release form went home last week.  It needs to be turned in signed with a yes or no.  Parents not wishing for students to see the video will be sent to another room.

4.  Reading Calendar.  This is due Wednesday, May 7th for full credit.

5.  Last Day of School.  I want to do a BBQ for the kids.  I am looking for donations of hot dogs, buns, ketchup, mustard, chips and watermelon.   I will be sending an email as we get closer.

I have really enjoyed spending this year with your children and will miss them dearly as they move on to 6th grade!
