For the week of April 10th - 14th
7 weeks of school left!!! Wow, how fast time is flying. Here are a few reminders about our last weeks of school.
Reading Calendars
The month of April is our last reading calendar for the year! Please remember to keep you kids reading this month. :)
2nd to last Book Orders - Due Wednesday 4/7
A few book orders came home with the April calendar. If you didn't see them and still want to order, just shop online using the Scholastic link on the right hand side of the blog. There are a lot of summer reading deals going on right now. Some books are only $1.00 :)
Science Fair
Our Science Fair and Carnival is scheduled for Friday, May 12th from 3:30 - 7:00pm. Science projects are to be completed at home and brought to school on that day. If you need help with ideas or materials, just shoot me an email. Every student is expected to do a project.
Field Trip
Thanks to our cookie dough fundraiser and the hard work put forth by the class, we have been able to do some really cool things this year. We went to the Boise Philharmonics, we had the Wagon's Ho wild west experience, the Idaho theater for Youth just presented Stewart Little, Corbin Maxey-wildlife expert will be coming the end of April for an animal presentation and for our big field trip . . . .we will be heading to Sur La Table in the Village for a science cooking school day. The students will learning about the science behind cream and baking powder. We will be making and eating several of our creations that day. Because I have a large class and the cooking school is small, I can only take 6 chaperons. It will be first come, first serve. I will post the sign up on my blog next week. The field trip is Monday, May 8th from 8:15am - 1:00pm. After the cooking school, we will walk across the street to the park and have a picnic lunch.

It's hard to believe we are in the final countdown to the end of the school year. With just 2 months left to go, we still have a lot to accomplish. I am in the works of planning our end of the year field trip. I will need several parent volunteers to make this work as we are going to a science cooking school. :) As soon as I have more info, I will post a sign up sheet. We will be limited on space so it will be a first come, first serve basis.
Science Fair is only 4 weeks away. Projects are to be completed at home. It is part of your student's science grade. Packets on "How to do a Project" went home before spring break. If yours didn't make it, there is a link on my blog. :) I cannot wait to see what the students come up with.
