Mid-week update

Hello!

I don't normally like to bombard you all with info mid-week but there are papers that came home today and some that will come home tomorrow.  Here is what they look like and what they are for:

Picture Day is Sept. 15th  - forms came home today

Enrichment Sign Up - Will be coming home tomorrow.  Please read carefully before deciding

Reading Calendars for September - Due the first week in October - went home last week

For the week of September 6th - 9th

Hello all!

I hope you had a wonderful and restful 4 day weekend.  Now we are back to business.  I will be putting in our first set of grades to the grade book this week.  You will be able to login to Infinite Campus to see your student's progress.  If you have never logged in, please contact Amy Bowers amybowers@visioncsd.org in the elementary office for your login info.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding grades, please don't hesitate to call, email or drop in (after school).  

Every Day Counts Campaign!!

Attendance from the first day of school through the first Friday in November drives 85% of all funding for VCS.

All students attending school every single day from 9/1/2016 - 11/4/2016 will receive two tickets for a drawing to receive a Chrome Book. Every student who attends every day but one from 9/1/2016-11/4/2016 will receive one ticket for a drawing for a Chrome Book. See the school's newsletter on our website for more details!

For the week of August 29th - September 1st

We had another wonderful second week of school.  Last weeks spelling test has been graded and will be sent home on Monday.  Here are a few reminders for this week:

Tuesday, August 30th
Those wishing to purchase pizza for Wednesday's lunch need to bring their money to class.  It costs $1.00 a slice with the choice of pepperoni or cheese.

Thursday, September 1st
Our spelling test will take place on Thursday.  Snack shack may be open . . .I will try to find out for sure.

Friday, September 2nd
No school.  Remember to purchase your hot lunches for next month :)  

Monday, September 5th
No school. Labor Day

Here are some extras from last week.  Our Word de Jour was Maliase or a feeling of unease.  We started our new class book Gordon Korman's "Radio 5th Grade".  We also have jumped full force into math reviews and will be working on multiplication fluency to help with fractions and decimals.
