LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!

Wow!  It has been an amazing and incredibly fast year.  We are in our last week of 5th grade.  Here is what to expect:

Monday, May 18th  - PJ Party, Book Movie Trailer Party and RAD
  1. With compliments from Mrs. Lair and the racers from our field trip, our class earned its last points party of the year.  Students are welcome to wear PJs and bring treats to share.
  2. Book Movie Trailer Party. My students learned new movie making software and were tasked with making a "book" movie trailer.  Monday morning we will be having a book movie trailer premiere party.  All the movie trailers will appear on my blog Monday morning for your viewing pleasure.
  3. RAD.  We will be performing twice on Monday in our gym-a-café-a-torium.  The first show will be around 2pm for the school and 7pm for the parents.  Please have your student ready, dressed in black pants and their red RAD shirt at the school by 6:30.  See you there.
Tuesday, May 19th - Liberty Charter RAD Rally
  1. We will be performing our RAD show with Liberty Charter in a duel school show off.  Maggie O'Mara from channel 7 news will be covering the performance.  Buses leave around 8:30 and should be back by lunch.  Parents are welcome to follow the busses over. Please sign in with our office first.
Wednesday, May 20th - Auction Day and early release
  1. This is the day the students have been waiting for!  Auction Day!  They get to spend their hard earned class cash to buy cool prizes.
  2. We are still doing an early release on Wednesday see you around 2pm.
Thursday, May 21st - Clean the class and Field day
  1. Please send your student to school with an extra sack to take all goodies from this year home! We will also be hosing down desks, dusting lockers, rearranging, etc.
  2. Field day will take place the last hour and a half of the day.  We still need 2 volunteers from my class to help Mr. Berg out.  Please email me if you are interested.
Friday, May 22nd - Awards, Tacos and Good byes
  1. 11:20 - 12:10 Special Awards in the Gym
  2. 12:10 - 1:40 Tacos, Burritos and Nach'o teacher anymore lunch.  Please make sure if you signed up to bring food, you have it delivered hot at 12:10 or get it to me the night before and I will make it at home.
  3. 1:40 Congrats! You are officially 6th graders!

Thank you for sharing the precious gift, that is your child, with me this year.  I hope I inspired them to be life long learners, love math and science and be ready for whatever the future holds for them.  I had an amazing year and appreciate all you parents and  your support.  I will miss you next year.  Please don't be a stranger . . .drop by and say hello.
On a side note, your student will have access to their Khan Academy account all summer long.  If you hear the words, "I'm bored!", have them hop on KA and finish their 5th grade mission.  They can also get a leg up on 6th grade by starting their 6th grade mission.  I also have math tutoring spots still available this summer.  Interested?  Email me for details and times.
