We are in our 2 week countdown to Thanksgiving Break. Here is what you can expect this week:
1. It is College Application Week. Although 6th grade has a few more years to think about what to do with their future, our school being a college prep school, celebrates College Application Week. At the middle school level, we focus on choosing to "go on". Advisories will celebrate with decorating doors with Teacher's alma maters ( Go Griz!) and have a collegiate wear day.
2. Costa Rica
Yes! You heard right. I am planning an adventure field trip to Costa Rica for early summer of 2019. If you are interested in learning more, please attend the informational meeting on Tuesday, November 14th in room 113 at 6pm. The trip is open to students in 6th grade-12th grade, parents of students in those grades and alumni of Vision Charter.
Hope to see you at the meeting!
Math 1
We are finishing up Topic 3 - Equations and Inequalities in Math. We will have a Topic test on the Thursday before we leave for Thanksgiving Break.

The class has read several different versions of Washington Irving's Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This week we will be classifying and characterizing the list of main characters. We also will start handwriting/cursive practice this week.
Science
We wrapped up on unit on Air pressure and will have a lab on how pressure affect air.
Home Econ
As the holidays approach, I will be working with the students on cookie making and decorating.
